THERMONUCLEAR CHILI | |
1 (30 oz.) can tomato sauce 4 (30 oz.) cans tomatoes 8 oz. green chiles 1 (2.5 oz.) can of chili powder 3 lg. white onions 3 lg. red onions 3 lbs. ground beef 1 lb. hot Italian sausage 5 lbs. cheapest round steak 24 oz. beer Partially freeze round steak, then cut into 1 inch cubes. Brown all meat. Place tomato sauce, whole tomatoes, chili powder, beer, and round steak cubes into pot and simmer. Chop chiles and throw into pot. Chop 2 white and 2 red onions and throw into pot. After 4 to 5 hours chop remaining onions and throw in pot, along with sausage and ground beef. Simmer for 4 to 5 more hours before it's fit to eat. This chili gets better with age, refrigerate at night, simmer all day and add more tomatoes for moisture. Serve with corn bread. Makes about 2 gallons. |
