WESTERN CHILI | |
1 sm. round steak 1 1/2 lbs. ground round 1 pkg. chili seasoning mix 1 lg. onion 1 green bell pepper 1 lg. can Brooks' Chili Hot Beans 1/2 tsp. chili powder 1 pork steak 1 chili roll (concentrated chili found in freezer section) 15 oz. can stewed tomatoes 1 can fancy kidney beans 1 can pinto beans 1 tbsp. butter Cut steaks into small pieces and brown slowly until fully cooked; drain. Brown ground round, drain and place all meat in Dutch oven. Slowly heat chili roll in skillet until dissolved and add to the meat mixture. Dice onion and green pepper and saute in butter. Add beans, tomatoes, onions, green peppers, chili mix and chili powder to the meat mixture. Simmer on low heat for at least one hour. Add salt and pepper to suit your own taste. |
