SOUR CREAM SUGAR COOKIES 
1 c. butter or 1/2 c. shortening
2 c. white sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sour cream
3 to 3-1/2 c. flour

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs. Add flour to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream. Chill. Cut with 3-inch cookie cutter. Can be dropped instead of rolled.

Bake at 375°F for 10 to 12 minutes.

Icing:

1/3 c. shortening
3 c. confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
dash of salt
3 tbsp. or more canned evaporated milk

Ice cookies when cool.

Makes soft cookies.
