EASIEST & BEST HOMEMADE ALFREDO
SAUCE

This by far is the easiest and best Alfredo sauce recipe I have found yet! I love pasta and Alfredo and searched forever to make it homemade. I think that too many recipes have too many ingredients and that others are too watery. My girlfriend loves it and makes me cook it at least once a week.. plus you can add it to so many different things! This is a great, simple recipe to make for someone coming over for a dinner date ;)

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 cup half and half
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon garlic powder (optional)
pepper, to taste

1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter.

2. Once butter is almost melted, add the package of cream cheese. It's easiest to cut it into 4 pieces so that it melts quicker.

3. Once butter and cream cheese are mixed well together, add the cup of half and half, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and then shake pepper on top. Stir all together until well mixed.

4. Once it's mixed well and sauce-like, take it off the burner and set aside so it can thicken up. Stir every few moments.

5. DONE! Pour over your favorite pasta, I love it with tortellini!

Don't forget some bread-sticks to dip in the extra sauce! :)

I found this recipe a some years ago. It sounded so easy & simple, I knew I had to try it. Let me just say this - Michael does not lie! It has become a staple in my home and I keep the recipe handy at all times. Until I moved recently! I was very glad to find it again (although, to be honest, I probably could have made it from memory now!). Thanks, Michael!!!

This recipe is amazing! I use real minced garlic that I saute in the butter and it comes out great! It makes a LOT though!

Next time I would use half of the cream cheese. Otherwise it is tasty and easy.

Wow! So quick and ez. Way better than any of the store brands and you can add your own touch like fresh chopped chives and a minced garlic clove out of the garden.

Excellent! I used just half of the garlic powder and skim milk. I put it over wide egg noodles, cooked in the broth of 1-inch chunks of chicken breast. Drained off most of the liquid and added the sauce. It was the maid dish for lunchtime harvest crew in Kansas. They loved it!

I'm in the minority as well. Too cream cheesy....not a sauce at all. I added another cup of milk to thin it out. Added smoked salmon, peas and capers and mixed with far false. It was ok but I will keep looking for an Alfredo sauce.

Simple and easy!!! I substituted one can of evaporated milk, since I didn't have half and half. It turned out thick and creamy! Yum..yummy.
