STUFFED CABBAGE | |
1 lb. chopped meat or ground turkey 2-3 saltines 2 tbsp. chopped onion 3/4 c. cooked rice Salt and pepper 1 head cabbage 1 can stewed tomatoes 1 beef bouillon cube 1 can tomato soup 1/4 tsp. garlic powder (optional) Mix meat with saltines, soaked in water, onion, rice, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Cook cabbage submerged in water; boil about 10 minutes. Reserve water. Peel leaves off of cooled cabbage. Roll meat into oblong meatballs. Roll in cabbage leaf, sealing and tucking in edges. In pot, mix stewed tomatoes, soup, bouillon cube, add as much cabbage water for desired consistency. Place cabbage rolls in carefully. Cook, covered about 1 hour simmering, after it boils. Serves 4. |
