JUDY'S BAKED APPLE DOUGHNUTS 
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg, beaten
1/4 c. milk
1/2 c. grated raw apples
1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Add flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and 1/2 cup sugar. Cut in shortening until mixture is fine. Mix beaten egg with milk and apples. Add all at once to dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly, fill greased muffin tins 1/2 full. Bake 20-25 minutes. Roll in sugar, cinnamon mixture or powdered sugar. Serve warm.
