HILMA'S SWEDISH MOLASSES SUGAR
CRISPS
 
3/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. molasses
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. salt

Melt shortening over low heat, remove and let cool. Add sugar, molasses and egg, then beat well. Sift together remaining dry ingredients. Add to first mixture. Mix well and chill for 2 hours, roll into balls and roll in sugar and flatten with a glass that has been dipped in sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
