APPLE - WALNUT CRISP | |
3 lbs. cooking apples 1 tbsp. lemon juice 1/2 c. chopped walnuts 1/2 c. flour 1/3 c. packed dark brown sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 tsp. ginger 4 tbsp. butter Peel and core apples into 1/2 inch thick slices. Place apple slices in 1 1/2 quart microwave safe baking dish. Toss with lemon juice to coat. In bowl, mix nuts and next 5 ingredients. Add batter; cut into 1/4 inch pieces. Blend with finger tips until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle mixture over apples. Cook on high 14 to 16 minutes until apples are tender and topping is crispy. |
