SWEET DOUGH 
2 c. lukewarm milk
1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 cakes yeast
2 eggs
1/2 c. shortening
7 to 7 1/2 c. flour

Mix together the milk, sugar and salt. Combine 2 cakes yeast into the mixture. Stir until the yeast is dissolved. Mix in the flour which has been sifted. Stir in the eggs and shortening.

Yield: 4 dozen plain rolls or 1 large pan of rolls or 1 coffee cake and 2 dozen plain rolls.

To use dry yeast, omit 1/2 cup of milk and soak 2 packages dry yeast in 1/2 cup lukewarm water for 5 minutes without stirring. Stir well before adding other ingredients.
