RED PEANUTS
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. water
1 tbsp. red food coloring
3 c. raw shelled peanuts (skins on)

In a saucepan with teflon lining, put sugar, water and red food coloring. Over medium heat bring to a bubble, stirring constantly. Add the peanuts, stirring gently until the water has evaporated, this takes about 5 minutes. Gently pour into 12x15x1 cookie sheet or similar size pan and carefully spread the nuts out in the pan. Bake 325 degrees for about 15 to 18 minutes, stirring once or twice. Cool in pan completely. Store in tight container. Can be sealed in Ziplock bags and shipped anywhere. Will keep for 3 months.
