SWEDISH HEIRLOOM COOKIES | |
1 c. shortening 1 c. powdered sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/4 c. almonds, ground 2 c. sifted flour 1 tbsp. water 1 tbsp. vanilla Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cream 1/2 cup shortening, add gradually 1 cup powdered sugar and 1/2 teaspoon salt, creaming well. Add 1 1/4 cups almonds. Blend in 2 cups flour gradually. Add 1 tablespoon water, 1 tablespoon vanilla, mix thoroughly. Shape into balls, place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes. Roll in powdered sugar while warm. Makes approximately 4 1/4 dozen cookies. |
