WAIKIKI MEAT BALLS 
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
2/3 c. crackers
1/3 c. onion
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/4 c. milk
1 Tbsp. shortening
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. brown sugar (packed)
1/3 c. vinegar
1 tbsp. soy sauce
Juice from 13 oz. can of pineapple
1/3 c. green pepper
13 oz. chunk pineapple

Combine beef, crackers, onion, egg, salt, ginger and milk and roll into meat balls, 1 tablespoon each. Brown in skillet in 1 tablespoon shortening. Remove from skillet and keep warm. Pour off fat.

Mix in skillet cornstarch, brown sugar, vinegar, soy sauce and pineapple juice. Bring to a boil and stir for 1 minute. Add meat balls, green pepper and pineapple. Simmer and serve.
