SOUTHERN PECAN PIE 
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. corn syrup (light or dark)
1/4 c. butter
1/4 tsp. salt
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. pecans
1 pie shell, unbaked

Combine sugar, corn syrup, butter and salt, bring to a boil over low heat. Pour this hot syrup slowly over beaten eggs, stirring constantly. Cool, add vanilla and pecans and pour into the pie shell.

Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 375 degrees. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.
