FOURTH OF JULY FRUIT CAKE 
2 sticks butter
2 c. sugar
6 eggs
1 can flaked coconut
1/2 c. milk
1 lg. box vanilla wafers, finely crushed
1 c. chopped nuts (pecans)

Cream butter and sugar with mixer until fluffy. Beat in eggs (one at a time). Blend in coconut. Add milk. Stir in vanilla wafers, 1/3 at a time. Add pecans. Place in greased and floured tube pan. Bake about 2 hours, 250 degrees.
