1 honey ginger cake
1 c. salad oil
1/2 c. honey
1/2 c. molasses
1 1/2 c. white sugar
1 c. boiling water
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. flour
2 eggs

Cream oil and sugar, add beaten egg, honey and molasses. Next sift in all dry ingredients. Add hot water and beat until smooth. Bake in tube pan at 350 degrees about 40 minutes. If cake is browning too fast use lower heat.

1. HONEY SPICE CAKE: In place of molasses use honey. This makes a nice spice cake.

2. HONEY LEMON CAKE: In place of molasses and spice use honey and 2 teaspoon lemon flavor.

3. Use as a base for a fruit cake.
