CRANBERRY COFFEE CAKE 
1 stick butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 pt. sour cream
1 tsp. almond flavoring
1 can whole cranberry sauce
1/2 c. nuts

Cream butter and sugar, add unbeaten eggs, add dry ingredients alternately with sour cream, add flavoring. Grease and flour tube pan. Put layer of batter in bottom and add 1/2 cranberry sauce. Add rest of batter, cranberry sauce and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes. Remove from pan after cooling 5 minutes.

TOPPING: (optional)

Mix well 3/4 cup confectioners sugar, 2 tablespoons warm water and 1/2 teaspoon almond flavoring. Spread on top of cake and let run over sides.
