SAUSAGES WITH FRIED APPLES | |
1 lb. sausages 4 to 5 slices bacon 6 to 8 red apples Brown sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon Fry the sausages slowly until done and set aside. Where they will keep hot. Dice the bacon, and cook it lightly, not crisp, in another large skillet. Core the apples and dice them, including the red skins. Add to the bacon, sweetening the apples to taste with brown sugar and stirring in the cinnamon. Cover and cook slowly for about 20 minutes. Remove the cover and brown the apples, turning them constantly to prevent sticking for 10 to 15 minutes. Serve on a hot platter, surrounded by the hot sausages. Serves 4. |
