BEEF AND SAUERKRAUT (MARHA
KAPUSTA)
 
4 c. sauerkraut, drained
2 tbsp. flour
3 lbs. beef cubes, like stew meat
1 sm. onion
1 apple, peeled and grated
1 tbsp. sugar
Salt and pepper

In a heavy pot put 1/2 the sauerkraut, sprinkle with flour. Add the meat, onion, apple, and sugar. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Lay remaining sauerkraut on top of meat. Add boiling water, just to cover and cook for 3 hours slowly over low heat.
