BISHOPS BREAD | |
1 1/2 c. flour 2 c. chopped walnuts 1/4 tsp. salt 2 c. chopped walnuts 1 c. pitted dates, chopped 1 c. candied cherries 2/3 c. chocolate bits 3 eggs 1 c. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder Grease 10 x 5 x 3 loaf pan. Line bottom with 3 layers of waxed paper. Heat oven to 325 degrees. In bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in chocolate bits, walnuts, dates, cherries until well coated. In large bowl beat eggs, then gradually beat in sugar. Fold in flour mixture and pour into greased pan. Bake bread for 1 1/2 hours or until tester comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack. Remove from pan, remove wax paper and wrap in foil. May be frozen. Wonderful gift. |
