MOM'S CANDIED SWEET POTATOES 
12 sm. sweet potatoes
1 1/2 c. sugar (granulated)
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. hot water
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
3/4 c. melted butter
1 tsp. salt
1 c. pecans

Peel potatoes, leaving them whole, put in shallow greased baking dish. Mix remaining ingredients and boil them for 8 minutes. Pour hot syrup over potatoes and bake, spooning syrup over potatoes several times throughout cooking. Bake until syrup is thick and potatoes are tender, about 1 hour. Serves 6.
