MOM'S BASIC SWEET YEAST DOUGH
2 c. scalded milk
2 tsp. salt
2 pkgs. dry yeast
1/2 c. warm water
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
3 eggs
8-10 c. all-purpose flour

In large bowl place salt, sugar, and cut-up butter. Place dry yeast in 1/2 cup of warm water, not boiling. Pour scalded milk over dry ingredients in bowl and stir until butter has dissolved and is well mixed. Beat in eggs.

Add 2 cups of flour and mix well; then add yeast and water and stir well. Gradually add remaining flour until the consistency is for kneading bread.

Place bread on floured board or keep in same bowl. Add enough flour to outside of dough so that you can knead for 5-10 minutes. Place in bowl and let rise; punch down and make dough into desired shape (buns, etc.). Let rise again, this time in desired pans.

Bake at 350-375 degrees until done, about 1/2 hour. If you have a large Tupperware mixing bowl, this works nice for letting the dough rise in the first time, covered. Can be used for mixing bread, too.
