BASIC SWEET ROLL DOUGH | |
2 pkg. dry yeast 1/4 c. water (warm) 1/3 c. shortening 1/3-1/2 c. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. milk 3 eggs, beaten 4-5 c. flour Soften yeast in water. Scald milk, stir in shortening, sugar and salt. Cool to lukewarm. Beat in 2 cups flour. Add yeast and beaten eggs. Add remaining flour to make soft dough. Cover and let rise 10 minutes, then knead on floured board. Put dough in greased bowl and let raise until double. Punch down and make into roll of your choice. |
