CHEESE WAFERS 
1/4 lb. New York sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
1 stick butter, softened
1 c. all-purpose flour
Dash of red pepper
1 egg, beaten
Pecan halves

Cream cheese and butter. Combine flour and red pepper - add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Shape dough into small balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten to 1/4 inch thickness. Brush wafers with beaten eggs. Top each with pecan half. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Remove from pan while hot. Sprinkle lightly with salt.
