ANGEL BISCUITS 
5 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt (low sodium is ok)
1 scant tsp. baking soda
1 c. shortening
2 tbsp. warm water
1 pkg. dry yeast
2 c. buttermilk, if no buttermilk take 2 tbsp. milk away from the 2 c. milk & replace with 2 tbsp. vinegar (clear)

Sift dry ingredients together. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add it and buttermilk to dry ingredients. Mix well. Turn out onto lightly floured board. Add more flour, if necessary to dough. Roll 1/4 inch thick and cut. Roll in melted butter. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.

The instructions do not mention cutting the shortening into the flour or dry ingredients. I did it that way and am very very pleased with this recipe. It's very easy to make it no salt and tasty. THANKS!

Made these biscuits with reduced sodium baking powder, no sodium baking soda substitute and did not add the tsp. of salt. Finally found a very YUMMY, very low sodium biscuit! Thanks for sharing this recipe!!!
