PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
large pinch of salt
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla

Whisk together flour, baking soda and salt.

Cream together butter and peanut butter until well blended and smooth, adding the sugar gradually to mixture. Beat until mixture is light and fluffy.

Add 1 egg, well beaten; stir in vanilla. When well mixed, add flour mixture, stirring until mixed. To avoid tough cookies, do not beat - stir only until mixed.

Drop by the teaspoonful onto a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet and press a criss-cross pattern onto the top using the tines of a fork that has been dipped into flour.

Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 8 minutes. Do not overbake.

Makes about 3 dozen.

Peanut Butter Cookies

I thought these were okay. I will note that I used 1 cup of white sugar instead of brown white. The peanut butter flavor was not as strong as I would have liked. Next time I might dip them in melted chocolate or drizzle the chocolate over.

Thanks so much! I just added a little bit more Peanut Butter, it looked like too much butter compared to the Peanut butter :) Me and my step mom did it! It tasted wonderful. Thanks so much! Wonderful recipe :D !

I substituted Argo corn starch instead of flour, half the amount of flour and they were delicious.

Cookies turned out sooo good. I added a piece of dark raspberry chocolate in the center. Also I substituted 1/4 cup more peanut butter and only used 1/4 cup of butter. I don't do that much cooking but these were very easy and results were awesome.

I love peanut butter cookies! However there was not as much peanut butter as I hoped for and it was dry and crumbly but overall they came out pretty good:)

I love peanut butter cooked! However this recipe was only ok... There was not as much peanut butter as I had hoped for and it's a bit dry and crumbly and didn't make as much as said.. I even made them small.. But overall they were good and they were still eaten up!;)

I'm 13 and I made this recipe for the first time, and it came out pretty good. I was scared it was going to be bad because the batter was very dry and crumbly, but now that they're out of the oven and cooled down, the cookies are very delicious! I made a few mistakes with the measurements of the salt and sugar, but the strong taste of the peanut butter overcame that.

I decided to make some cookies with what we had in the house, instead of running and grabbing a pre-made package at the store, like I normally do. My husband tried them and now he is addicted. He told me I am no longer allowed to make cookies from the store ever again. We will definitely be making these again!

This cookie is a little bland - needs more sugar or something?

This recipe is so great! I used half whole-wheat flour and half unbleached white flour along with doubling the recipe, and they were perfect! Definitely keeping this recipe!

I just had 3 cookies after cooking down! They came out beyond perfect!!!! I used 1 1/2 cups of sifted flour. Nothing crumbly about the dough. It was smooth and very easy to handle! Best peanut butter cookies ever!

I was wanting something sweet but only had basic ingredients in my pantry and then I found this easy recipe. It was a great recipe and kid friendly too.
