“PECAN FINGERS” IS IN:

PECAN FINGERS 
1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon water
2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups pecans, finely chopped or ground

Beat together butter, shortening and brown sugar until creamy.

While beating on low speed, add vanilla and water, then add flour, salt and ground nuts. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.

After the dough has chilled, form into small pieces about the size of a finger. Bake on greased cookie sheet in 250°F oven for about 30 minutes or until golden brown.

While still warm, roll in powdered sugar.

Makes about 3 dozen.

These cookies can also be made using almond flour instead of all purpose flour and almonds in place of the pecans. Use almond extract or liqueur or amaretto. These are wonderful!
