MINCEMEAT 
1 1/2 lbs. stew meat
12 lg. or 18 sm. apples
1 lb. currants
2 lbs. raisins
3 c. dark cane syrup
2 c. vinegar
3 c. sugar
3 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg

Boil stew meat 1 hour, grind or chop fine. Pare and chop apples. Wash currants and raisins. Mix meat, apples, currants, raisins, syrup, vinegar and spices. Use 2 cups per 8-inch pie. Bake at 350 degrees about 1 hour. Will keep in refrigerator for weeks.
