STRAWBERRY CHEESE SPREAD 
1 pt. berries, hulled
1/2 stick unsalted butter, softened
1/8 tsp. salt
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
3 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. lemon juice

In small saucepan, combine berries, sugar and lemon juice, cook mixture uncovered over medium heat, stirring and mashing the berries for 45 minutes or until it is very thick and almost all the liquid is absorbed, let cool.

In another bowl, cream together the butter, cheese and salt. Add berry mixture and combine well.

Can be made up to 3 days in advance. Serve with bagels.
