CHERRY CHOCOLATE NUT BARS 
2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
6 oz. chocolate chips
1 c. drained, chopped maraschino cherries
1 c. chopped nuts

Grease and flour 15 x 10 x 1 jelly roll pan. Heat oven to 350°F. Combine all ingredients, except chocolate chips, cherries and nuts. Blend at medium speed until smooth, about 2 minutes. Stir in chocolate chips, cherries and nuts. Spread in pan.

Bake 25 to 30 minutes until lightly browned.

Icing:

2 c. powdered sugar
2 tbsp. soft butter
2 to 3 tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Combine all ingredients and blend until smooth. Spread over warm bars. Drizzle 1/2 square melted unsweetened chocolate over bars. Cool and cut.
