1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 c. hot water
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sour milk
2 1/2 tsp. baking soda

Mix shortening and sugar. Add eggs and mix again. Add cocoa, water, salt and vanilla and mix well. Add flour and baking soda, milk and mix well. Bake at 350 degrees 35 minutes. Cool and frost.

For sour milk, add 1 tablespoon of vinegar to regular milk.
