GOLDEN BROILED CHICKEN 
2 (2 1/2 lb.) broiler chickens, split in half or quartered
Salad oil
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. MSG
Pepper to taste

Brush chicken with salad oil and season with salt, MSG and pepper. Place skin side down in broiler pan (no rack). Broil 5" to 7" from heat, about 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Brush occasionally with fat. Turn; broil 15 to 20 minutes longer. When drumstick moves easily and thickest part of chicken feels very soft, chicken is done. Makes 4 to 8 servings.
