"BEST YET" MOLASSES COOKIES 
1 egg
1 c. white sugar
3/4 c. soft shortening
4 tbsp. molasses
2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
2 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt

Beat egg and sugar gradually. Add shortening and molasses. Mix thoroughly. Sift dry ingredients twice and stir into mixture. Cool dough in refrigerator for at least 1 hour. Shape into small balls, roll in granulated sugar; place on cookie sheet (do not flatten balls). Bake at 375 degrees 12 minutes. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
