CORN BREAD 
1/4 c. flour
1 c. cornmeal (I use yellow)
1 lg. tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. melted shortening (bacon grease is great)
Buttermilk to make smooth batter
1 egg

Mix well. I put mine in an old iron skillet to which I have added about 2 tablespoons grease and heated very hot. Then pour batter in skillet and bake in hot oven 450 degrees until done. I don't like corn bread with sugar in it this recipe is excellent.
