APPLE MACAROON 
5 lg. apples
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

TOPPING:

4 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 c. flour
Pinch of salt

Slice apples in buttered pie plate or 9 inch square cake pan. Sprinkle with mixture of 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. In medium bowl, cream 4 tablespoons butter with 1/2 cup sugar. Add egg, 1/2 cup flour, and salt. Beat well and spoon over apple slices. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Bake in 350 degree oven until lightly browned. Best if served warm!
