MANDARIN ORANGE SALAD 
1 head Romaine or half & half iceberg lettuce
1/2 c. chopped green onion
1/2 c. chopped celery
3 3/4 oz. candied slivered almonds
1 can mandarin oranges

Prepare lettuce and onion and celery. Place almonds in a small frying pan with 2 tablespoons sugar and stir over medium heat stirring constantly until well coated with sugar. Remove and separate into small pieces. Combine all other ingredients and toss with dressing below. Chill.

DRESSING:

1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 c. sugar
Onion juice to taste
5 tbsp. white vinegar
1 c. vegetable oil

Mix salt, mustard, sugar and onion juice. Add oil slowly beating constantly.
