BUTTERMILK POUND CAKE 
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
3 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. lemon extract
1 tsp. almond extract

Combine shortening and sugar, creaming until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Dissolve soda in buttermilk. Combine flour and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, mixing well after each addition. Stir in flavorings.

Pour batter in a greased and floured 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pan and glaze.

GLAZE:

1 c. powdered sugar
1/4 c. lemon juice
1/4 c. melted butter

Combine ingredients and pour over cake.
