RANCHERS SUPPER 
2 tbsp. shortening
1 env. onion soup mix
1 c. water
2 med. carrots, thinly sliced
2 sm. green peppers, chopped
1/2 c. sliced celery
2 med. potatoes, sliced
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
2 c. tomatoes
2 tbsp. chili powder

In large skillet brown meat. Add onion soup mix, tomatoes, water and chili powder. Cook 30 minutes. Add vegetables and cook uncovered 45 minutes until vegetables are tender and gravy thickens. Serves 6.
