NEW YORK BARS 
1/2 c. butter
3 tbsp. cocoa
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. graham cracker crumbs
1 c. coconut
1/2 c. nuts
1/2 c. butter
2 c. powdered sugar
2 tsp. vanilla pudding (instant powder)
4 - 5 tbsp. cream or milk
4 squares chocolate or 1 c. chocolate chips
2 tbsp. butter

For first layer, place 1/2 cup butter, cocoa and 1/4 cup sugar in double boiler and stir until smooth. Add beaten egg, remove from heat and add vanilla, cracker crumbs, coconut and nuts. Spread in 9 x 9 inch pan and cool. For second layer, mix 1/2 cup butter, powdered sugar, pudding and cream or milk. Spread over first layer, let firm. For third layer, melt chocolate and butter; spread on top.
