PEG'S PINTO BEANS 
2 lbs. pkg. pinto beans
6 strips bacon
4 tbsp. picante sauce
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. chili powder
4 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. paprika

Pick over beans, wash, and soak in warm water for 1/2 hour. In large Dutch oven, saute bacon partially. Drain beans. Add beans to Dutch oven with all seasonings. Add hot water to cover beans by three inches. Cover and cook until beans are tender. Stir occasionally and add water if necessary. Additional seasonings can be added to taste. Yield: 6-8 servings.
