BARBECUED PINTO BEANS 
8 c. dried pinto beans
1/4 lb. salt pork, chopped
4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
4 tbsp. salt

Sort beans and wash thoroughly. Cover with water, and soak overnight. Drain beans, and place in a heavy saucepan; cover with water, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours.

Add salt pork to beans, and simmer 15 minutes. Stir in sugar and salt; simmer about 15 minutes or until beans are tender. Yield: 15 to 20 servings.
