HUCKLEBERRY JUMBLES | |
2 c. sugar 1 c. shortening 3 eggs 1/2 c. milk 3 1/2 c. flour 4 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt (scant) 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. lemon extract 2 c. huckleberries Bake in shallow pans, 35 to 45 minutes at 325 degrees. Cut into squares while slightly warm. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon mixture while still hot or glaze with 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon melted butter, a little boiling water and a few drops lemon extract. Spread on while hot. Use a 9"x13" pan, 11"x7" pan and an 8" round or square pan (approximate). |
