GRANDMA'S SOFT CREAM JUMBLES 
1/2 c. shortening (part butter for flavor)
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
3 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. thick sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
Mixture of 1/4 cup sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon

Cream the shortening, add sugar gradually; cream well; blend in well beaten eggs, mix well. Sift flour, salt, soda, baking powder together; add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream; blend in vanilla. Drop by teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on well greased heavy baking sheet. Bake for 9 minutes in hot oven; then remove from oven and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon mixture. Return to oven immediately to finish baking (3 minutes) or to make the sugar and cinnamon mixture to stick better, sprinkle it on cookies before baking. In this case, bake 10 to 12 minutes at one time. This last baking method gives a crackled surface. Yield: 5 dozen medium cookies.
