HOT RIZE PLUS BISCUIT RECIPE | |
2 c. sifted Martha White self-rising flour 1/4 c. shortening About 2/3 c. milk 1. Heat oven to 475 degrees, hot oven. 2. Put sifted flour into bowl. Add shortening and cut in until all particles are as fine as coarse meal. 3. Add milk and mix quickly with a fork. 4. Turn dough out on lightly floured board or pastry cloth. Knead, roll out and cut with floured cutter, place on baking sheet and bake 10 to 12 minutes. NOTE: For buttermilk biscuits, substitute 3/4 cup buttermilk and add 1/4 teaspoon baking soda. |
