CHICKEN SALAD CASSEROLE | |
6 slices white bread 3 c. cooked diced chicken (or turkey) 1/2 c. chopped onion Salt and pepper 1 1/2 c. milk 1/2 c. mayonnaise 1/4 c. chopped green pepper 1/2 c. chopped celery 2 eggs 1 can mushroom soup Sharp cheese for topping Cube 4 slices of bread in bottom of greased casserole. Mix chicken, green pepper, onion, celery, mayonnaise, salt, pepper and the other 2 slices of bread cubed and spread over bread in casserole. Beat egg and milk and pour over casserole and refrigerate overnight. Spread with undiluted mushrooms or celery soup. Bake 40 minutes. Add grated cheese over top. Bake 20 minutes longer. Oven at 325 degrees. Serves 8 to 12. |
