BAR-B-QUE SAUCE | |
1 med. onion, diced fine 1 stick butter 1/3 c. white or cider vinegar 3/4 c. cold water 1 c. catsup 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 3 tbsp. molasses 3 tbsp. sugar 3 tsp. dry mustard 1/2 tsp. pepper 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. onion powder 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1/4 tsp. garlic powder Melt butter in a pan and add diced onion, saute until onion is clear, add rest of ingredients, stir well and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 25 minutes. Makes 3 cups of sauce. NOTE: For a slightly sweeter taste, add 2 tablespoons corn syrup and 2 additional tablespoons sugar. Excellent as a marinade for beef, pork or chicken. |
