MA WELCH'S PRUNE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. oil
2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. cooked, chopped prunes
1 c. chopped pecans

Mix sugar and oil. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix all dry ingredients and add alternately with the buttermilk. Add the pecans and prunes; mix well. Bake in 13 x 9 inch oblong cake pan at 300 degrees for 45 minutes.
