1 c. Wesson oil
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. cooked and mashed prunes

Combine oil, eggs, and sugar until creamy. Add flour, cloves, cinnamon, buttermilk, and vanilla. Mix well. Add mashed prunes. Bake 1 hour at 300 degrees.

TOPPING:

1 1/2 c. sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 c. buttermilk

Boil until mixture bubbles then pour over cake.
