GRANDMA'S PRUNE CAKE 
3 eggs
1 c. oil
2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. allspice
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. prunes, cut in sm. pieces
1 c. nuts (walnuts, pecans, black walnuts)

Blend sugar, oil and eggs. Add dry ingredients, milk, vanilla, prunes and nuts. Mix well. Pour into greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until done. Pour on Buttermilk Icing while cake is still hot.

BUTTERMILK ICING:

1 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. white corn syrup
1/4 c. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Boil mixture until it forms a soft ball when dropped in cold water. Pour over hot cake.
