BISHOPS CAKE 
3 eggs, well beaten
1 c. sugar
1/4 lb. chocolate bits
1 1/2 c. flour
2 c. nuts
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. cut up dates
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. halved candied cherries

Combine eggs and sugar. Beat well. Sift dry ingredients together. Add chocolate, nuts and fruit to flour mixture. Fold into egg mixture. Pour into 9 1/2 x 5 1/2 x 2 3/4 inch greased loaf pan. Line bottom with waxed paper. Bake 1 1/2 hours in 325 degree oven.
