1 3/4 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. cocoa
3/4 c. sour milk (1 tbsp. vinegar)
3 eggs plus 1 egg white
1 tsp. lemon
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift together dry ingredients. Cream shortening, sugar, then add eggs, then milk and flour alternately. Cake pans, 9 inch floured and greased. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

FROSTING:

1 1/2 box confectioners' sugar (3 c.)
6 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. cocoa
1 egg yolk
2 liquid tbsp. coffee

Mix frosting ingredients.
